ROCKY MOUNTAIN JUNIOR BASEBALL LEAGUE - Typical Spring & Fall Offerings     (REVISED 01NOV2024)

Divisions

The Golden Junior Baseball Association (GJBA) is a founding member of the Rocky Mountain Junior Baseball League (RMJBL).  GJBA Player Pitch teams play games against comparable teams from neighboring baseball associations generally located within Jefferson County.  The GJBA Executive Committee, in conjunction with individual Player Pitch Head Coaches, will determine appropriate competition division for each new or existing team.  The RMJBL offers the following competition divisions:

  • AAA-National (highest competition)
  • AAA-American
  • AA-National
  • AA-American (lowest competition)

Age Groups (13 to 14 years old)

Parents should register their player based on the applicable info shown in the registration age chart, regardless of what age group their team is assigned to (if this is known at the time of registration).  GJBA can/will administratively move registrants as indicated/desired after registration is complete.  Players can be moved “up” to an older age group team, but not “down” to a younger age group team.

Practice Schedule

SPRING:  Typically 1 to 2 weekday and/or weekend practices per week at 2 hours each in the pre-season beginning mid-February (days/times/locations TBD).  Practices involve the use of indoor batting cages and/or outdoor fields as permitted by weather and field conditions.  Practice locations are typically located at outdoor baseball fields and indoor batting cage facilities within the general Golden area.  GJBA player pitch head coaches have the discretion to adjust/reduce practice schedules when the game season begins.

FALL:  Typically 1 weekday per week at 2 hours each.

Game Schedule

SPRING:  Typically 1 to 2 weekday games per week with days/times/locations TBD.  The 13U age group typically begins in mid-April and runs through the end of June.  The 14U age group typically begins in mid-March and runs through the end of May.  Game schedules are created by the RMJBL (GJBA has limited control on locations and times) and will be shared with coaches & parents as soon as it becomes available.  Games are typically scheduled Monday through Friday nights, with approximate 5:30 and/or 7:30 start times.  GJBA will endeavor, in conjunction with field owners and neighboring youth baseball associations, to schedule games for its younger players at earlier times, especially during the typical school year.  Games are typically not scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays.  All player pitch parents should expect game travel to neighboring fields/towns within Jefferson County.  All player pitch parents should expect to play some double headers during the season, and should expect changes to the game schedule with respect to weather cancellations, rescheduled make-up games, and end-of-season tournament games.

FALL:  Typically 1 game on Sundays ONLY, usually located in Arvada.  Season consists of 7-8 games between late August and mid October.
